The Birmingham

Welcome to the Birmingham Schutzhund Club. We are a GSD league of Great Britain Schutzhund group, formed in 2006. Our fully equipped club is located on private land near to the Belfry Golf Centre.

Training takes place on Sundays starting at 10.30AM. We have one of the country's longest serving "A" Grade helpers who goes by the name of Travis Foster or "Trav" to all who know him and another experienced "A" grade helper in Roger Leddra. We also have several training helpers and regularly host visiting trainers and helpers from all over the UK.

Any potential new members with any working breed are welcome to visit the club to see what we do. All we ask is that you make prior arrangements with the club secretary, Lorraine Foster who can be contacted on 07973 320413.

Please bear in mind that schutzhund is a sport which requires very good control of dogs and covers the three disciplines of tracking, obedience and protection. It's our policy not to train dogs in protection until a very good level of control is evident. We're absolutely NOT here to train dogs to be aggressive or indimidating outside of the very narrow parameters of the sport. (Sorry to be a bore, and we don't want to sound unneccesarily unfriendly, but in the interests of clarity: If a visitor only wants someone to train a dog to bite and we think they're not serious about the sport in general or prepared to put the not-inconsiderable time and effort into training until they get to that point, they will not be invited back. For everyone else, we welcome enquiries - whatever your level of experience - with open arms!)

We plan to have this site full of useful information for anybody interested in the sport to view. We also have a Web Forum where we invite anybody to register and join in with discussions.

• Non-Members - £5.00 per visit
• Members - £15.00 per month by Direct Debit
